Past Pupils Union Charter
1. Statement of purpose
The Terenure College Past Pupils Union (PPU) is established to serve the past pupils and members of the PPU by uniting past pupils in social events and by supporting charities such as but not limited to the Terenure College Past Pupils Benevolent Fund
2. Organisational structure
The PPU is comprised of a committee with elected officers. The PPU is supported by a part time secretariat based in Terenure College who works exclusively on PPU matters ranging from development of the Union to supporting the committee in its work
3. Scope of the PPU and its events
The PPU is committed to running a number of events during a calendar year aimed at bringing past pupils together in a social , friendly and enjoyable way. All events are self funded and the Union will remain a ‘not for profit ‘organisation
4. Spirit of friendship
The PPU conducts its business in a spirit of friendship and openness. The PPU upholds the strong traditions of the founding fathers of the PPU and maintains open and friendly relations with Terenure College and the Order of Carmelites.
5. Membership
All past pupils are entitled and encouraged to join the PPU and are welcome to participate in Union events and activities. An annual membership subscription is in place and past pupils are invited to support the Union by paying this subscription.
