Distuingished Past Pupil Medal Winners 2019
Distinguished Past Pupils Many past pupils contribute to society through voluntary or charitable work, or excel in sport, science or the arts. These people embody the values that Terenure boys share and admire. This year and in the future we will recognise these worthy past pupils by awarding distinguished past pupils medals.
Marty Doyle ( Class of 1969)
Played for JCT & SCT at Terenure College.
Marty is married to Ciara Purcell & they have 2 children; Jack & Abby.
The Doyle family consists of 5 boys & 2 girls; Terry, Benny & Marty attended Terenure College.
Kevin, Terry, Benny & Marty all played rugby together in Terenure College RFC.
Marty is a Director of Dublin Engineering who specialise & supply into the Chemical & Pharmaceutical Industry, over the last 40 years.
He became involved with SOLAS Project through the Liberty Saints Rugby Club in 2015, between John Bourke & himself they got a scholarship fund started, to give any child an opportunity to attend Terenure College.
Marty has been involved & played in Terenure College RFC at all levels since he left school & is Vice President of the Rugby Club
John Bourke ( Class of 1979)
Practise Liaison Pharmacist, NPIP Programme royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (2019 ongoing). Director FTP (Recruitment) Ltd (2019 ongoing)
John created Pharmacy Xcelerate Skillnet, a learning and development member network with Skillnet. He was communications manager IPOS, QMS in Retail Pharmacies and Brand Development ‘Life’ Pharmacy.
John is also a past president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland 1999-2001.
He attended Trinity College Dublin – Bsc Msc Pharmacy 1979-1983
David Webb ( Class of 1979)
A Consultant in Paediatric Neurology in Crumlin Children’s Hospital and Tallaght Hospital, specialising in Epilepsy and movement disorders. David is a Graduate of UCD and has worked in Ireland, UK and Canada. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and is also a clinical associate professor of paediatrics at Trinity College, Dublin.
David was captain of the 1979 SCT Cup Winners and subsequently played with UCD while attending Medical School.
Michael Costello ( Class of 1984)
MANAGING PARTNER at BDO Ireland
A Commerce and Masters graduate of UCD, Michael trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse before running his own firm and joining BDO in 2004. Michael is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
His clients include the large indigenous and international companies across the information technology, financial services, pharmaceutical and property sectors.
Michael has served as auditor and trusted advisor to a wide range of large private and public companies for over 20 years.
