The Annual Dinner this year will take place on Friday the 21st of April in the Aviva Stadium from 6.30pm with Dinner being served at 8pm. We hope this to be one of our best dinners yet.. Special Guest Speaker on the night. Cost per ticket is €95, early booking is advised as the bookings for this event close on the 3rd of April. Dress Code is smart casual.

Dear Past Pupils,

In October 2022 I was honoured to be elected Past Pupils President for the current year. Having served on the committee for a number of years prior, I was excited to take on the role and together with a very strong committee we have set out to continue to develop and improve both the Union and the value that we offer to our members.

After a sold-out and very successful PPU business lunch in The Westbury Hotel last November, we immediately began work on our flagship event for the year, the PPU Annual Dinner. Due to the impact of Covid, last year’s dinner was a doubleheader which we held in Terenure College RFC and we received overwhelmingly positive feedback. I would like to again thank our hosts for enabling us to run such a large and successful event.

This larger-scale event sparked an idea among myself and the Committee. Can we create some new traditions and make this year’s dinner, and our future dinners, bigger, better and as memorable as possible while also offering great value to our attendees? We believe we can.

This year we are delighted to announce the dinner will be held in the Aviva Stadium. After a drinks reception overlooking the pitch, we’ll be welcomed to The Presidents Suite, a very adaptable area that we hope to grow into over the coming years while making the Aviva the home for the PPU dinner for the foreseeable.
As this is our first year of change we’re inviting from our members to help us make the event a success. We have created sponsorship packages for the Dinner and we’re now looking to work with a select group of sponsors.

We are confident that by working with sponsors we can kickstart our event while also paving the way for future events of this magnitude.
We believe part of the success of the 2022 dinner was the scale of the event. It’s hard to believe we had 450 past pupils including fathers, grandfathers, sons and brothers all in attendance in the traditional 5-year cycle. We also saw tables of past pupils from outside the 5-year cycle who wanted to be a part of the night. This is something we would welcome again and we’re making individual tickets as well as tables of 10 available for any past pupils, regardless of year.

Our final addition to the evening is to have well-known guest speakers along with evening entertainment to help create an unforgettable atmosphere.
